Happily, today I can announce that DiceMechanic.org is still here and will remain open for business for at least another year. Due to taxes coming in, I was able to renew my WordPress account as well as the domain registration.
The fear that this site was about to fold is one of the reasons I’ve been hesitant to begin the comparison posts covering the various modern-day RPG’s. Now that I’ve got that weight off my shoulders, I can earnestly begin to work through this project.
Also, I’d like to take a moment to say that we’ve just hit our THREE-year anniversary of this site, and a big THANK YOU to everyone who’s been visiting this site since the beginning. My first post was published in March of 2017. It’s a little weird that it’s been three years… it doesn’t feel like that long.
I don’t ever expect DiceMechanic.org to become popular, but the simple fact that just about every single day someone in the world is taking a moment to look over the site and read something I’ve written keeps me going.
Role playing games are my passion. RPG rulebooks, campaign settings, sourcebooks, etc. are the only kind of book I read anymore. I literally don’t even remember the last time I cracked open an actual story. I don’t like the fact that the author of the book is in complete control of everything, and there are no players to throw a wrench into a carefully thought out story.
So please… throw a wrench in here. Comment. Critique. Yell at me when I write something dumb. Tell your gamer friends to take a look.
Thank you!
Tim
